With the holidays and New Year past us, it’s starting to feel like winter is dragging on with no end in sight. However, spring is just around the corner! The winter months seem to pass a little faster when you have something to look forward to, and Kentucky is the ultimate destination for a spring weekend getaway. While there are so many benefits to planning an experience in the winter (everything is SO much less crowded!), there is something so magical about Kentucky in the spring.
First of all, the distilleries look absolutely stunning when things are starting to bloom and turn green again. If you’re looking to boost your spirits after a gray winter, this is the place to do it! People always ask about the best time of year for tours, and we always highly recommend weekdays in the spring months. The weather is sometimes unpredictable but generally pretty good, and the distilleries won’t start seeing large crowds on weekdays until early summer. It’s definitely the best of both worlds. We’ll be adding some new itineraries to our website throughout the spring, so be sure to check back often for different tour ideas! And as always, we can customize itineraries as well!
And why just visit distilleries? We highly recommend including a horse nursery farm in your itinerary, because we can’t think of anything cuter than little foals running around in the fields! The farms around Kentucky are friendly and relaxed, and the thoroughbred racing industry is truly fascinating. If you visit in April, you can even spend a day at the races at the beautiful and historic Keeneland Racetrack. You don’t want to miss out on this uniquely Kentucky experience!
If you are sold on a spring visit to Kentucky, make sure you don’t wait too long to contact us. Weekends are already starting to fill up quickly (especially in April), so reach out as soon as possible to secure your dates! We can’t wait to show you around.
