Lex Like a Local: Justins' House of Bourbon

We're starting a new blog series! Each week, we'll take a look at one of our favorite local Lexington spots. You may not be able to visit them now, but hopefully this series will help get ideas about what to see in Lexington when it is FINALLY time to travel again! The first business in our series is Justins' House of Bourbon, a go to for many travelers looking for rare and hard to find bourbons!

Justin’s House of Bourbon is a local specialty bourbon shop located in downtown Lexington (they also have a Louisville location, which we'll of course happily take guests too as well!). While Justins' has typical house staple bourbons (Maker's, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey, etc), what they really specialize in is product that is not found easily. Think Weller (I've personally seen Weller Antique, Special Reserve, Full Proof and 12 Year there all at the same time), EH Taylor, Pappy, Stagg, Blantons, and many private selections! They also have a series of vintage bottles for purchase and tasting that cannot be missed.

Our tour groups love stopping by to check out the bottle displays, and the tasting bar has a great selection. While they specialize in bourbon and typically serve neat pours and tasting flights, they also have a great cocktail menu. This is a fantastic way to finish a tour day with us here at Commonwealth Custom Experiences- shopping for bourbon while enjoying a drink!

Additionally, one other great aspect about Justins' House of Bourbon is their private tasting room. They’re always happy to set up specialty tastings, and one of their knowledgeable staff members will lead groups through an in-depth tasting experience. They have pre-set tasting options, or they can build custom tasting flights based on what bourbons your group is interested in. If you would like to set up an exclusive tasting, we’d love to make this a part of your next experience! And whether you’re local to Lexington or just visiting, we recommend stopping into Justin’s soon to take a look around and enjoy a drink!

We suggest pairing Justins' with our Lex Itinerary or Big East Itinerary. Find our more about our experiences here!
